ABOUT SHIPLAKES

Founder-Led 3PL in Warren, Michigan

Built by e-commerce founders who’ve been in your shoes. Helping startups and small brands ship 50–1,000 orders a month with careful handling and transparent pricing.

WHY WE STARTED SHIPLAKES

Before Shiplakes was a warehouse, it was a problem we kept running into. Between us, we had already moved more than 50,000 orders and managed over $500,000 in inventory as founder-operators at prior e-commerce ventures. We knew what it felt like to ship from a garage, then a spare bedroom, then a rented unit, then — finally — to look for a 3PL and get told we were too small.

Larger 3PLs like ShipBob, ShipMonk, and Deliverr have real minimums. If you’re shipping 200 orders a month, you’re a rounding error to them. We started Shiplakes because smaller brands deserved somewhere to go. A place that answers the phone, opens the account in a week, and charges fairly from the first order.

MEET THE CO-FOUNDERS

Shiplakes is run by two co-founders, day to day, in the warehouse.

Mohammed Yousuf

Head of Operations · Co-Founder

Mohammed leads operations, client relationships, warehouse throughput, sales, and onboarding. He’s the person you’ll talk to on a discovery call, the person who quotes you, and the person who flags a problem with your inventory before you notice it. His background is in e-commerce operations — running his own DTC brands before Shiplakes — which is why our onboarding is built around the questions founders actually ask, not the ones a sales deck assumes.

Muhib Hussain

Head of Technology · Co-Founder

Muhib leads our technology: the warehouse management system at wms.shiplakes.com, our Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, and TikTok Shop integrations, and the automations behind inventory accuracy, order routing, and client reporting. If you’ve ever had a 3PL lose SKUs, miscount inventory, or send you a spreadsheet instead of a dashboard, Muhib’s work is the answer to that.

WHAT MAKES SHIPLAKES DIFFERENT

We’re not the biggest 3PL, and we’re not trying to be. Here’s how we work.

Founder-led support. When you message Shiplakes, you reach a co-founder. Not a ticket queue. Not a tier-one rep.

Small-brand focus. We’re built for brands shipping 50 to 1,000 orders a month. That’s our sweet spot.

Careful handling. A lot of our clients ship fragile goods, glass packaging, supplements, or health and beauty products where packaging damage kills the unboxing. We pack slower, use more padding, and double-check SKUs before they go out.

Transparent pricing. Our DTC pick & pack runs from $1.98 per order at the Scale tier on a 12-month contract, with a published Starter / Growth / Scale ladder. No quote gatekeeping.

Michigan-based, Midwest-focused. Our warehouse is in Warren, Michigan, 20 minutes from downtown Detroit. Shipping covers the Midwest in 1–2 days via ground.

PRICING

Most 3PLs hide pricing behind a quote form. We don’t. Here’s the full tier structure for DTC pick & pack:

Starter0–99$2.75 / order$2.48 / order
Growth100–499$2.48 / order$2.23 / order

$1.98/order is the Scale-tier rate on a 12-month contract. Pick & pack rate already includes standard packaging.

PRICING FAQ

Why is your pricing public when most 3PLs hide theirs?

Because hiding it wastes everyone’s time. Founders researching fulfillment need a number to build a P&L. If our number doesn’t fit, you should be able to figure that out in 90 seconds, not after three sales calls.

Are there long-term contracts?

You choose. Every tier has both month-to-month and 12-month contract rates. The 12-month rate gets you the lower per-order and storage numbers. Month-to-month is always available.

Is there a minimum order volume?

Practically, around 50 orders per month. Below that, the per-order math doesn’t work well for either side, and you’re probably better off self-shipping a little longer.

How does billing work?

Weekly invoices, Net 7. Itemized by service line so every charge ties back to an order, unit, or SKU in the WMS.
