Kitting takes loose components and turns them into one sellable unit. A good 3PL handles:
- Combining multiple SKUs into one packaged unit.
- Adding inserts, custom packaging, or branded touches.
- Poly-bagging, shrink-wrapping, or boxing the finished kit.
- Labeling the kit as one unit with its own barcode.
- Light assembly, like snapping parts together or folding.
When your brand needs kitting
You do not need kitting for a single-SKU order. You do need it once you sell things that ship together. Common triggers:
